What do the Salisbury Grammar School tests involve ?

The Salisbury Grammar Schools have different testing arrangements detailed below.

South Wilts Grammar School (SWGS) use GL Assessment as their 11+ test provider, and the test consists of three papers:

  • Mathematics: covering all aspects of the year 5, and some of year 6, National Curriculum in mathematics: 50 minutes
  • English: covering linguistic skills, comprehension, spelling and punctuation: 45 minutes
  • Verbal Reasoning: a range of question types assessing logical thinking and problem-solving skills: 50 minutes.

All questions are multiple choice. All papers are sat in one session with a break between each paper.

 

Bishop Wordsworth’s School (BWS) also use GL Assessment for their tests, however the papers are structured differently with two papers:

  • Paper 1: assesses English (including reading comprehension, spelling, punctuation & grammar) and verbal reasoning: 45 minutes.
  • Paper 2: assesses maths and non-verbal reasoning : 45 minutes.

All questions are multiple choice. Both papers are sat in one session with a break between each paper.
